Annual July Ball 2023 – A Night of Colourful Celebration

The long overdue Annual July Ball, a night of colourful celebration was held with excitement and joy at the Eagles Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall in Aththidiya on 26^th July 2023. The event was an unforgettable night for the Officer Cadets, Day Scholars, Staffs, Officers and their families. The July Ball 2023 was graced by the Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP USP, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed to July Ball 2023 by the Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Vice Admiral UVMP Perera RSP**, USP, ndu, psc, MMaritimePol, MSc(DS)Mgt, MSc (MS & NSSS), BA(DS) Hons, PWO, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Air Marshal RAUP Rajapaksa RSP and two Bars, VSV, USP, MSc (MOA) USA, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MA in IS&S (UK), BSc (Def Stu), MIM (SL), AMIE (SL), rcds, psc, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Rector Metropolitan Campus -KDU, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of KDU, Deans of faculties, Directors, Senior Administrative staff and many other distinguished guests participated the occasion.

The night featured a series of exhilarating performances including exciting Couple dances like Cha Cha, Zumba, and musical acts filled with joy and excitement. It provided a platform for students and officers to come together, celebrate, and form lasting bonds, making it an unforgettable experience for all involved. Nearly 500 couples of students (Officer Cadets and Day scholars) of Intake 39th participated in the event.

The best dancing couple of the July Ball 2023 was selected from several dancing categories, and those winning dance couples are as follows;
