The High Commissioner of the Maldives Visits KDU
The High Commissioner of the Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Masood Imad, visited General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) on July 11, 2024, for a courtesy call. He met with Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS), the Vice Chancellor of KDU. Major General CA Wickramasinghe, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence and Administration), also participated in the meeting. During the visit, the High Commissioner had a productive and fruitful discussion with the Vice Chancellor on several mutual interests.
Following his meeting with the Vice Chancellor, the High Commissioner met with the Officer Cadets and Day Scholars from the Maldives to discuss their issues and challenges during their stay in Sri Lanka. Currently, KDU hosts several Officer Cadets and Day Scholars from the Maldives.
The High Commissioner also visited the University Hospital (UHKDU), where he toured all the faculties. He was welcomed by the Director of Medical Services, Brigadier PS Thilakarathne, and the Director of Administration, Brigadier LWSR Wettasinge.
