THE ANNUAL KDU BALL 2024: THE NIGHT OF GLAMOUR AND ROYALTY

The annual KDU Ball 2024, a night of colorful celebration took place in the Wave n’ Lake Navy Hall Welisara on July 19, 2024. The event was an unforgettable night for the officer cadets, day scholars, staff, military officers, and their family members. The KDU Ball 2024 was graced by the Chief Guest, General G.D.H. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil Secretary, Ministry of Defense. The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed to KDU Ball 2024 by the Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS), the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. The night featured a series of exhilarating performances, including exciting couple dances and dancing events like Cha Cha, Jive, Bachata, Salsa, Baila, and musical acts filled with joy and excitement. It provided a platform for students and officers to come together, celebrate, and form lasting bonds, making it an unforgettable experience for all involved. Nearly 550 couples of students (officer cadets and day scholars) of Intake 40 participated in the event. The best dancing couple of the KDU Ball 2024 was selected from several dancing categories and was awarded with memorable gifts. The crowning of KDU Prince and Princesses of Intake 40 was the most glamorous event in the KDU Ball 2024.
