JAPAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

The Japan Karate Association (JKA) proudly marked its 35th anniversary with the highly anticipated JKA Championship 2025, which was held on 30th March 2025, at the Bandaragama Indoor Stadium. This landmark event brought together some of the finest karate practitioners from around the world, showcasing their skill, discipline, and unwavering spirit in the true essence of Shotokan Karate.
Further, in the lead-up to the main championship, a special coaching camp and tournament was organized on 26 and 27 March 2025 at St. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia. This event provided an invaluable opportunity to refine the karate player’s techniques, learn from seasoned instructors, and test their skills in a competitive setting. Under the guidance of expert trainers, participants gained more profound insights into the art of Shotokan Karate, preparing them to perform at their peak in the championship.
The JKA Championship 2025 witnessed electrifying performances across various categories, with competitors displaying precision, strength, and discipline in both kata and kumite events.
The KDU karate squad represented both the training program and the competition, respectively, and achieved 07 gold medals, 04 silver medals, and 05 bronze medals by showcasing their talent.
