
KDU Logistics Day 2025
The 11th Logistics Day of KDU was successfully held under theme “Logistics Unleashed: Facing the Future Global Challenges” on 28th March 2025 at the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) Auditorium.
Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS), the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), graced the occasion as the chief guest along with the Guest of Honour Mr. Shamal Perera,- Director Operations in Sri Lanka for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC); a world leader in global container shipping, who added glamour to the event.
A panel discussion was held, followed by the launch of the 10th edition of the “Logistics Times” magazine, with the participation of eminent personalities in the logistics industry, namely Mrs.Devika Ellepola – Head of Passenger Sales at Emirates Sri Lanka, Mr. Pandula De Silva – General Manager Marketing & Business Development at EFL 3PL Sri Lanka, Mr. Kingsley Abeywickrama -Director and Country Head for CMA CGM Sri Lanka, and Prof. H.R. Pasindu – Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa. The discussion was expertly moderated by Mr. Nisthar Cassim – Editor of Daily Financial Times, providing valuable perspectives on future challenges in global logistics.
The day’s programme also included cultural performances such as traditional dances and entertainment items, reflecting the rich heritage of Sri Lanka, adding vibrance to the event.Notably, the winners of the ‘Logistics Times’ magazine article competition were awarded under two categories: intra-university winners and inter-university winners.
