Department of Physiotherapy is one of the leading departments in Faculty of Allied Health Sciences that offer Bachelor of Science Honours Physiotherapy (BSc. Hons.Physiotherapy). This program was implemented in 2013 and presented as 4 year full time degree course. The program is designed to meet the mission and objectives of the department of Physiotherapy.
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physiotherapy curriculum has been designed for students to acquire sufficient knowledge of the principles and techniques in Physiotherapy practice. It will provide students, comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all disciplines of Physiotherapy at undergraduate level. A BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy course unit uses diverse teaching learning methods such as lectures, practical sessions, as well as hospital and community based clinical practice sessions. As the practical sessions are conducted subsequent to the relevant theory components, the students have the opportunity to build their skills upon the knowledge gained.
The Bachelor degrees offered by the FAHS are in conformity with the recommendations of University Grants Commission (UGC) in conformity with Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) covering minimum 120 credits in course work delivered over 4 years.
