Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) Midshipmen Visit to KDU

Midshipmen of 64^th Intake of Naval and Maritime Academy visited KDU on 02^nd April 2023 as a part of their Annual Environmental and Educational Excursion. LCdr (CDO) PD Jayasekara, the Divisional Officer of 64^th Intake along with an Assistant Divisional Officer and 29 Midshipmen who arrived at KDU were warmly welcomed by Col RKARP Ratnayake RSP USP psc, the Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies.

A briefing about the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was conducted by the Officer Cadets of Intake 39 and the NMA Midshipmen got an opportunity to visit the General Sir John Kotelawala Memorial Museum, War heroes memorial, Biomedical Research Laboratory, Anatomy Museum and Teaching Laboratories of Faculty of Medicine, Engineering Workshops and Laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering.

The Midshipmen got an opportunity to play a friendly basketball match with KDU basketball team. A lunch was organized at the Cadets’ Mess with the participation of Officers and Officer Cadets from both NMA and KDU which was one of the most delightful interactive events of the day and it marked the final event of the day’s programme. Mementos were exchanged to mark their visit to KDU.
